Distribution |
Currently only known from the type locality - lower Aloumbé River, Northern Gabon. The first description paper refers to 7 collecting localities all within the Awagné River Basin. |
Habitat |
Discovered in a lake 1 km long. Fish found near
banks in secondary rivers & small streams with sandy botttoms under
the shadow of large trees & roots extending into the water. Also
collected in small stagnant pools of water with muddy bottoms. |
Distinguishing Characteristics |
Males have a pale blue anal fin without sub marginal bands. |
