From tributaries of the Geebo and Dugbe rivers, in southern Liberia |
Habitat |
Inhabits a wide range of
substrates (clay/sand/silt, gravel, bedrock.), commonly found in small
headwater streams 4 m or less in width. wood/twigs & leaf litter
in some areas. Not collected in swampy areas, replaced here by E.dageti. |
Distinguishing Characteristics | Distinct in males having an orange background with red spots & females having red spots over a yellowish background. |
Colour/Pattern Variability | Males have an orange body with red spots and reddish orange median fins with dark red spots and dark red margins. Females are yellow with red spots and have yellow median fins with red spots. |

Formerly known as ML 09 / 13 - Mile 28 or Epiplatys sp "Orange Liberia". Collected by Oleg Mediannikov 2009, Liberia. |
